2021 Las Cruces Space Festival “Passport to Space”

“PASSPORT TO SPACE” IS AN INTERACTIVE WAY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2021 LAS CRUCES SPACE FESTIVAL

The Las Cruces Space Festival (LCSF) comes to you for its fourth year, April 9th-12th 2021, with a wide variety of virtual events, talks, tours, virtual missions with the Challenger Learning Center of Las Cruces and even a space trivia. Because Doña Ana County is still in pandemic restrictions, the decision was made by festival organizers to keep all activities as safe and socially-distanced as possible.

The “Passport to Space” encourages families and kids of all ages to explore the rich space history in our City, County, and region. From April 1-30, LCSF is asking participants to take selfies at nine locations that have space significance. Participants can then tag the photos on Facebook or Instagram using #LCSF2021 or email their photos to festival organizers to be entered in a drawing for an awesome prize pack that includes merchandise from local commercial space agencies, fun space memorabilia, and more. Winners will be announced on the LCSF Facebook page on May 1st 2021.

“We felt it was important to have an activity included in this year’s festival that encompassed our core value of ‘making space for everyone’. What better way than having friends and families check out space-related areas and learn more about the contributions this region has played in the space industry historically and in the present,” said LCSF Executive Director, Alice Carruth.
