Las Cruces Space Festival ‘Space Walk’

Are you a proud space fan? Do you have a favorite space character, real or imaginary? Do you love to dress up? Then we have the event for you! The Las Cruces Space Festival is partnering with the Downtown Las Cruces Partnership on the 2019 ‘Space Walk’. Register at the ‘Color Me Cruces’ mural (opposite COAS) from 5.30pm on Friday, April 12th.

The free and fun parade will leave the ‘Color Me Cruces’ mural at 6pm to walk south on Main Street to the Plaza de Las Cruces. Prizes will be given to the best dressed. There are multiple age categories and a prize for the most imaginative costume.

In 2018 over 80 people participated in the ‘Space Walk’. This year, we hope to flood Main Street with space costumes in celebration of ‘Yuri’s Night‘.

The Las Cruces Space Festival will be celebrating the anniversary of the first human space flight in style! There are multiple events going on after the ‘Space Walk’ including live music on the Plaza de Las Cruces by ‘Triple Jack’ from 7-9pm. The Rio Grande Theatre will be hosting excerpts of ‘Yuri‘ and ‘Silent Sky’ and an exciting presentation by Alires Almon.
