Las Cruces Space Festival will return in 2021

2020 has been an unforgettable year, and many things have changed for all of us, including planned events. The 2020 Las Cruces Space Festival was canceled due to restrictions enforced to slow down the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. So, although we would prefer to hold in-person activities, the organizing team have made the decision to bring back the festival next year as a virtual event and we are excited to announce that we will be hosting the 2021 Las Cruces Space Festival April 9-12.

The 2021 Las Cruces Space Festival will run Friday- Monday and will include presentations, panel discussions, art, virtual tours of space-related sites around Las Cruces, a space industry career event, activities for families, a virtual astronomy night and much more! Events will be streamed on social media and on the website.

“Event organizers have been very creative in their approach to taking festivals virtual” said Las Cruces Space Festival Director Alice Carruth. “The Las Cruces Space Festival theme is ‘making space for everyone’, and we hope that by taking the Festival online we will be opening up the city and state to new visitors so we can promote our rich space history to a whole new audience.”
